Learn how to properly curl your false lashes
False eyelashes are becoming one of the most popular beauty staples on the market. They can add drama and dimension for a night out, or go perfectly with lip gloss in place of makeup during the day. However, they can slowly start losing some of their initial curls if they’ve been worn multiple times. The best way to refresh your lashes without having to go buy new ones is to apply a new curl without making them look unnatural.
The key to curling false eyelashes is a combination of heat and curl without giving the lashes a sharp kink. There are a couple of ways that you can achieve this, either before you apply your lashes or afterward. Be sure to size your lashes properly first.
Curling the lashes after they're applied
If you’d like to put your lashes on first and then curl them, first clean and heat your eyelash curler with warm water. Then curl your natural lashes and apply your false eyelashes as close to the lash line as possible.
After reheating your curler, very gently curl both your natural and false eyelashes together and hold for several seconds. Don’t squeeze too hard or pulse the curler or you’ll develop a kink. You may have to repeat the curling several times with a reheated curler depending on the level of curl you want to achieve. Once you have the desired look, apply at least two coats of mascara in order to hold the curl in place.
Curling before you put on the lashes (optional)
In order to curl your lashes before you put them on, you’ll need a round tube whose diameter matches the level of curl you’d like. A mascara tube works great. Take your false lashes and lay them over the tube. Wrap a piece of tissue over the tube in order to hold the lash in place, and then use your hair dryer on low about six inches away to apply heat for several seconds. Check the lash and apply more heat or change your tube size as desired. Then curl your natural lashes and apply the curled falsies. A couple of coats of mascara, or black eyeliner and you’re good to go!
In conclusion
Once again, the important thing is to use gentle heat and pressure in order to avoid that kinky, sharp bend in the lash. Slowly curling them to the desired level is the way to go and ensures that you always have that perfect, eye-popping look.
